Shareholders have technical representatives who form the Technical Committee. The Technical Committee reports to the Board via the chairperson, Wayne Miller.

The functions of the Technical Committee are:

1. To develop and present to the Board any proposed research programmes.
2. To provide the Board with full details of the funding required for each research project contained within the proposed research programmes.
3. To establish and maintain a register of research projects.
4. To establish any sub-committees or appoint such persons as it considers necessary or desirable to fulfil its functions under the Shareholder Agreement.
5. To oversee each research project according to the research programme.
6. To recommend to the Board strategies, objectives and targets in respect of research work to be carried out.
7. To maintain a register of background Intellectual Property and establish and maintain a register of new Intellectual Property.
